Durham Leavers Service
Year 6 pupils attended the leavers service in Durham Cathedral which helps them reflect and celebrate their time in primary school and prepare them for moving to secondary school. Pupils participated in a number of prayer activities where they were encouraged to thinking about people who have helped them while in primary school, one of their best memories and what they loved most about the school. They also thought about what they were worried about and asked for guidance as they moved schools. Pupils also enjoyed a short service with singing and a talk. Everyone had a great day.
Pupils were visited by people from Harbour to lead a workshop about friendship. The class explored what it meant to be a good and a bad friend, including the qualities these people have. Pupils thought about how they want to be seen as a good friend and how they can choose the right friends to make at secondary school.
