"All smiles returned"

Misty Mountain Sierra

This term, Wingfield will be learning all about mountains. Take a look at our journey so far! We have been on some awesome trips and made some fantastic memories.

Wonderful Wingfield Scaling Roseberry Topping!

To launch our mountains topic, Wingfield climbed Roseberry topping. We learnt how it feels to climb a mountain and looked at the physical and human features around us. We worked really well as a team, helping and encouraging our team mates as we made our way to the top. We stopped at the top of the mountain and ate our lunch while we studied and admired the views. What an experience!

Geocaching at Summerhill

As part of our learning in geography, maths and computing, Wingfield went geocaching at Summerhill - a local forest and outdoor education centre. We used a compass and a GPS map to locate boxes which were hidden around the forest. As you can see we really enjoyed it and felt so excited when we found the boxes. The children worked really well as a team and developed their map reading skills. They were able to use and apply their knowledge of the 8 compass points in a real context. Go Wingfield!
