Tag Rugby - 10th October
Twenty children from year 5 and 6 attended the tag rugby tournament at Dyke House Sports & Technology Academy. All the children were amazing and tried their hardest. Everyone loved our brand new kit!
Football - 17th November
Our Football Team competed in the School Championships and finished a respectable fourth. The children’s sporting attitude was amazing and Mr Trowsdale said it was they best they had ever played. It was great to have Jacob join the team - he even scored a goal only a few minutes into his first game.
Indoor Athletics - 13th December
Our year 6 children did an amazing job at representing the school at the indoor athletics. As a group they came second in the field events and fifth in the track events. We are waiting to find out how some individuals ranked but are hopeful that some of our children will be able to represent the town later in the year. Once again, staff at Dyke House College praised the children on their outstanding behaviour and team spirit. Well done everyone!
Skipping Festival - 26th April
Our year 3 and 4 children had lots of fun at the skipping festival. They learnt new skills and are looking forward to taking part next year. Congratulations to our bronze medal winners Cydney, Omer, and Jack.
“I liked running and jumping out” said Cydney. “I enjoyed swooping the skipping ropes” said Omer and Jack said “I liked jumping over the skipping ropes”.
Dodge Ball Tees Valley Final - 5th July
A huge well done to our amazing dodge ball team who competed in the Tees Valley finals. They won 3 games, drew 1 and lost one only missed out on a semi final play-off on points. They finished joint 5th across the whole of the Tees Valley!
Football - 13th October
The boy’s football team did a fantastic job representing the school at their latest competition. They played great as a team and showed true Ward Jackson spirit. We are now in the Championship League. Our next tournament will be in November.
Football - 20th November
The boys football team attended Hartlepool United's Schools Football Competition. They did a fantastic job and were great representatives for the school. Unfortunately they didn't make it through to the next round but everyone agreed it was the best they've ever played.
Year 4 Indoor Athletics - 15th December
Our year 4 were brilliant at the indoor athletics event at Brierton Sports Centre. Keira won an award for outstanding attitude and performance during the different activities.
Dodge Ball Cluster Event - 12th June
Congratulations to our amazing Year 5 dodge ball team for winning the Dyke House cluster event - bring on the town finals!
Indoor Athletics - 3rd November
Some children from across the school attended an athletics event at the Hartlepool Sports Domes. While there, the children participated in a number of events and learned lots of new skills.
Golf - 22nd November
A group of children from year 6 attended a golf tournament at the Domes. Everyone had a great time learning how to play golf while participating in some fun games. We are looking forward to trying some more unusual sports later on in the year.
Year 5 & 6 Swimming Gala - 25th January
Our swimming team did amazing at the small school swimming gala at Mill House Leisure Centre. A huge well done to Jay and Logen for their 2nd and 3rd place medals.
Dodge Ball Town Final - 26th June
Well done to our amazing Year 5 dodge ball team who achieved third place in the town finals and have gained a place to the Tees Valley finals where they will represent Hartlepool. Well done to everyone who took part, it was a great competition. Bring on the finals!!
