Tournaments 2018-19

During the Autumn Term the children were given the opportunity to participate in a number of sporting tournaments and festivals. Within our own cluster alone 80 pupils engaged in competitive sport, with a further 20 children taking part in football tournaments.

The standard of sport and the ability levels of all pupils the children competed against have been very high and we have been delighted to have had pupils progress to town finals and one of our students reaching a Tees Valley final.

We look forward to taking part in further competitive tournaments in the coming terms along with a large range of non-competitive festivals for Foundation Stage, Key Stage one and Key Stage 2, throughout the rest of the school year.

Year 5 & 6 Cross-country – 24.09.18

All the pupils gave it 100% and finished the 1000m course with some fantastic times. We brought back 5 medals including two gold, one silver and two bronze and eight pupils qualified to represent the school in the town final.

Year 5 & 6 Tag Rugby – 9. 10,18

We had an amazing afternoon taking every pupil from both Blanchland and Aurora to the tag rugby tournament. The three teams played outstandingly well demonstrating great teamwork and sportsmanship. A huge well done to Team A who finished in third place.

Year 5 & 6 Cross-country town final – 4. 10.18

Eight children did a fantastic job at representing the school at the cross-country town final. All the pupils did an amazing job and each finished in the top half of their race. A huge well done to Lennon who has qualified to represent Hartlepool in the Tees Valley final.

Cross-country Tees Valley Final – 18.10.18

Lennon was amazing in the final at Stewarts Park. He competed against over 40 other boys from across the Tees Valley in a 2.3km race and finished in an amazing 16th place. We are incredibly proud of Lennon and his outstanding achievement. Lennon said, “Next year I am going to try to finish in the top ten."

Year 5 & 6 Football – 5. 10.18

What an afternoon for our boy’s football team. They were undefeated, meaning they qualify for both the Premier and Champions League! There was some amazing football on display from all the boys, but a special shout out goes to Owen for some top class saves in goal.

Year 6 Girls Football – 9.11.18

Well done to our amazing girls football team in their first tournament. They played extremely well winning one game, drawing three and only losing two by one goal. Ruby scored some cracking goals, Charlotte made some fantastic saves and Slava was fabulous in defence.
