Inclusion Strategy

From December 2026, all mainstream schools in England are required to publish an annual Inclusion Strategy setting out how they identify, support and meet the needs of pupils with additional needs and SEND.

At Ward Jackson Church of England Primary School, this is something we have always believed should be at the heart of our work. Inclusion is not an initiative or a separate area of school life—it underpins everything we do. For that reason, we have chosen to publish our Inclusion Strategy ahead of the national requirement.

This document explains the barriers to learning experienced by our pupils, the actions we are taking to remove those barriers and the impact we expect our inclusive approach to have. We hope it provides families and our wider community with a clear understanding of our commitment to ensuring that every child is valued, belongs and has the opportunity to flourish.
